Please keep in the refrigerator, even before opening.  We have confirmed that it will remain safe throughout the shipping process, but it's going to be its best mustardy self when kept in the fridge.

Mustard in the refrigerator?  Why?

Two words: Volatile oils.  Fresh-ground mustard has a potent kick that comes from these precious oils.  To preserve that kick, we keep Lusty Monk in the refrigerator.

Will it go bad if it's at room temperature?

No.  If it's left at room temperature for a few weeks, it will mellow out just a tad.  But to keep it at its freshest, spiciest, lustiest level of potency, we recommend refrigeration.

Service Better than Helene!

I visited common housefly back in March or so, at the time of the eclipse. That was when I found Lusty Monk Mustard. I am a mustard fan.

Then, Helene hit.

I placed another order to be shipped. The packaging was great and it was shipped quickly. I felt that I was helping two companies in the Asheville/Black Mountain area (Lusty Monk is made there, too).

My wife and will be back to visit our son in the are in late October. We like supporting the small businesses, and are thinking about moving to WNC.
